At St. Ignatius High School Adult Education, we are committed to fostering holistic development. Our program not only focuses on academic achievement but also emphasizes the personal, social, and professional growth of each student. We promote values such as integrity, respect, and compassion, encouraging students to lead lives of purpose and service. By integrating faith with learning, we aim to cultivate individuals who are not only academically accomplished but also morally grounded, ready to contribute positively to their families, communities, and society at large.
Competency-Based Education
Our hands-on, competency-based approach ensures that students gain practical skills and real-world experience. This educational method promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of subjects, preparing students to excel in a rapidly changing world.
Community Engagement
At St. Ignatius High School Adult Education, community engagement is at the heart of our mission. We believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and we actively encourage our learners to participate in and contribute to their communities. Through various service opportunities and partnerships, students develop a sense of responsibility and commitment to the well-being of others. Our program fosters a spirit of collaboration, helping students to build meaningful connections and understand the importance of giving back, while also enhancing their own personal and professional development.

We Are Providing an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel
At St. Ignatius High School Adult Education (SIHSAE), a “school of second chance” means offering adult learners the opportunity to return to education, complete their high school studies, and acquire essential life skills.
This program is specifically designed for individuals who, for various reasons, could not complete their education earlier.
SIHSAE provides a supportive and flexible learning environment that helps students achieve personal, academic, and professional goals, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and contributing positively to their communities
Our Vision
Teaching the Professionals of tomorrow
The St. Ignatius High School Adult Education (SIHSAE) program became a reality on July 5, 2009. It was established with the aim of providing vital educational opportunities and services to adults determined to access quality high school education. The program was spearheaded by a dedicated former Board of Directors, including Mr. Luis Gentle (former Chairman), Mr. Luis B. Frutos (deceased), Ms. Marie Scott, and Mr. Julio Tzib (former principals).
Since its inception, the program has grown from serving fifty students to over one hundred learners. SIHSAE helps adults prepare for post-secondary education, successful careers, and productive lives by offering a structured, flexible learning environment. The program also features a partnership with the Cayo Centre for Employment Training (CCET), which allows students to earn vocational certificates alongside their high school education
The collaboration between St. Ignatius High School Adult Education (SIHSAE) and the Cayo Centre for Employment Training (CCET) offers students a unique opportunity to earn dual certifications. Through this partnership, adult learners can work towards both a high school certificate or diploma and a vocational training certificate.
The CCET provides hands-on vocational training in various fields such as AC and refrigeration, tourism hospitality management, food preparation, and more. This collaboration ensures that students receive academic instruction and gain practical skills that enhance their employability and open doors to career opportunities, making them well-rounded candidates for the workforce.
The Adult Education Programme at St. Ignatius High School is founded on the belief that knowledge is the key to improving the quality of life. Education is promoted as a tool to develop skills necessary for a successful future.
